Blessed relief! My wonderful neighbor Dave brought the John Deere end loader and spent an hour plowing out my driveway! Then somebody bladed my road, and Livi and I were able to get out. We went to the movies and grocery store. Hard to see the scale of this picture, but the little dark spot to the right of the telephone pole is my mailbox, which sits about 4 feet high.

Still snowing. Now the Weatherbug is measuring projected storm totals in feet. Up to 4 feet total for here. I think I have around 3 feet on my driveway now. Here are this morning's pictures:

Update, it's about 11:30am, still snowing maybe an inch an hour. Livi and I went out to clear off a little spot to put some birdseed, and it's wicked blustery cold! Around 14 degrees and very windy and gusty. The snow is way past our knees, and we are both over 5'6" tall. Check it out

...and here comes the 2 footer! Yesterday my pals Daria and Randy came out and helped me shovel my whole driveway (about 120 feet). Friday night had brought Round One of this snowstorm, about 7 inches, heavier and wetter than we've had because it stayed around 30 degrees. Up until now I have swept the nightly snow off my driveway with a pushbroom, the snow has been light and fluffy because the temps stayed between 5 and 20. Compare today's pix with yesterday's:

This has been quite a cold snowy winter thus far, and it shows no sign of slowing. I haven't seen my yard for 2 months. No big 2 foot snow dumps, just a steady 3 or 5 inches almost every day. Livi's job is to sweep the snow off the steps, which she does almost every day. Here's what she'll wake up to today (another 2 hour delay for school, so many snowdays I've lost count):
